Dairy Safety
Our Commitment to a Safer Industry
NTI conducts extensive transport industry research, and we use the insights to help improve safety and efficiency. Australia has around 5700 dairy farms, producing some $4.3 billion and exporting some $621 million of milk annually. Dairy tankers are nearly two-and-a-half times more likely to rollover than other combinations. To view more on our incident data on dairy tankers, access our NTARC Dairy Report here. When we saw the numbers, we knew something had to be done. With Federal Government funding through the NHVR’s Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative, we developed a crash reduction program for the dairy industry – developed for industry, with industry.
The initiative started by listening to industry’s needs, and then creating training and educational materials that close key knowledge gaps. To learn more, check out the overview video and all training and educational videos, including never before seen in tank sloshing and surging footage, visit our Dairy safety playlist on YouTube.
