What you will love about the role:
As a key member of the Recoveries leadership team, you will play an important role in developing and strengthening our exceptional, market-leading claims offering. Your role will focus on providing strong leadership and strategic direction to a team of Recovery Consultants to ensure the efficient management of NTI’s recoveries portfolio through effective recovery activities. Reporting to the National Recoveries Manager, you will manage a team who are based across Australia.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and motivating a team of recoveries professionals to effectively manage diverse recovery portfolios in a proactive and cost-effective manner that achieves and exceed targets
- Create an environment of continuous improvement, whilst ensuring that all compliance, legal and regulatory obligations are met
- Develop and maintain communication and relationships with other functional areas of the business to implement strategic initiatives in collaboration with the leadership team
- Provide technical coaching, guidance and support to the team, act as an escalation point on complaints, and make recommendations to management in relation to recovery claim matters
- Review the effectiveness of the recovery controls and systems regularly, proactively identify and make recommendations of appropriate improvements
- Recognise individual achievements and celebrate team wins

With an in-depth knowledge of general insurance, you will be a skilled negotiator, exceptional communicator and someone who doesn’t shy away from difficult conversations. You are resilient, assertive, driven, innovative, and have a passion for working hands-on with your team to see them succeed. In addition, you will have;
- Approximately 5 years experience in a similar role
- At least 3 years’ experience in people management and leading claims teams
- A tertiary qualification and/or ANZIIF qualification (highly regarded)
